Alpha-1-Antichymotrypsin (AACT) is a serine protease inhibitor that is a member of the serpinsuperfamily. AACT is expressed in various tissues and is widely used as a marker for histiocytic tumors, including malignant fibrous histiocytoma and histiocytic lymphoma. It is also useful in identifying certaincarcinomas and can be employed in a panel of markers to differentiate between various types of soft tissue tumors.
