CK14 is a 50 kDa cyto keratin expressed in stratified epithelial cells. It can be used as a marker forsquamous epithelium and breast basal cells. It is generally used in combination with other cytokeratins to distinguish whether tumor cells are derived from stratified or simple epithelial cells.
